Among all the memorable attractions of London the London Eye is one of the later and contemporary attractions. The Eye is an enormous Ferris wheel placed on the edge of the Thames River in the Jubilee Gardens. The wheel was constructed as a feature of the millennium celebrations and has changed name a few times because of distinctive possession and supporting, at present it is formally called the EDF Energy London Eye. The wheel took 1.5 years to assemble and was composed by David Marks and Julia Barfield. It is developed from 1700 tons of steel and has establishments made with 3000 tons of cement. 

The wheel is 135 meters high and has a distance across of 120 meters, it was finished in 1999. The wheel has 39 fixed egg formed containers which can every hold up to 25 individuals. Every capsule is 8 meters in length and measures 500kg. In every capsule there is air-conditioning, seating and intuitive screens which give data about the locales you can see beneath in London. One full upset of the wheel takes around 30 minutes and at ground level the travelers get on and off without the wheel really ceasing; as the Eye rotations at such a moderate rate (26cm every second). 

From the capsules travelers have a 360 view of London and the majority of the well known points of interest can be seen from the wheel. There are various mix tickets accessible for the wheel and tickets which incorporate a boat ride down the Thames which conveys you to the Eye.
