Esplanade Park

This midway placed Singapore park is bound by Connaught Drive, Esplanade Drive, Stamford Road and the left bank of the Singapore River. The historic park was made in 1943 and was redeveloped in 1991. The recreation center is home to a few points of interest and purposes of investment. Esplanade Park is basically a long open stretch of ground along the seafront. The recreation center was initially called Padang which means field in Malay. 

In 1819 when Sir Raffles arrived in Singapore the area that Esplanade Park now involves was secured with low vegetation and a couple of rudimentary cottages. The area was created in the 1820s. Angsana trees and Raintrees were planted around the open field. In 1843 area was recovered extending the recreation center region. The recreation center range was utilized for expansive occasions like the New Year Regatta, cricket occasions, stallion riding, horse races and the New Year's Eve firecracker show. Landfill further extended the Esplanade in 1890 and another ocean divider and street were developed. More land was reclaimed in 1922. 

Various landmarks and remembrances are situated all through the recreation center. The Cenotaph was developed in 1922 to perceive the 124 troopers who kicked the bucket in World War One fights. The Tan Kim Seng Foundation was made in 1857 and migrated to the Esplanade Park from Fullerton Square. A Lim Bo Seng Memorial was made in 1954 in memory of WWII saint Lim Bo Seng. The lovely Theater on the Bay was developed at the most distant end of the recreation center and displayed on the Sydney Opera House. Around evening time the recreation center is delightfully lit and the encompassing historic point structures are additionally lit up making it the perfect spot for a night walk.
